Culture Events

"Bazaar-Art" Exhibition-fair	One of the impressive projects of the capital's cultural life is "Bazar-art" exhibition-fair, which is annually held at the Centre of National Arts and Crafts. The exhibition displays the works of the best masters and craftsmen from all over the country. These are hereditary masters as well as young craftsmen and talented children. The aim of the project is to educe and foster creative potential in the field of traditional and modern decorative and applied arts, to familiarize the public with new tendencies in this sphere, to support creative dynasties and talented craftsmen, as well as to preserve and augment the national heritage. Kid's Fashion Festival "Bolajonlar shirintoylar"	Festival "Bolajonlar shirintoylar"is arranged on an annual basis by Fund Forum together with Association of fashion designers and stylists of Uzbekistan "Osiyo ramzi". Within the framework of the Festival the visitors can attend Kids Fashion Show, Exhibition of national toys. Besides, there are organized various contests: Graphic Works, Best School uniform, Best designer, Best Fashion Parade, Best Concert Numbers performed by young children. The Festival participants are both professional and amateur designers.	Spring 2010
Traditional Culture Festival "Asrlar sadosy"	A large-scale project of Fund Forum, Traditional Culture Festival "Asrlar sadosy" (Echo of Centuries), introduces the rich diversity of folk traditions and customs, applied arts and national cuisine, unique oral and intangible heritage. Every year the Festival is held in the form of street festivities in various parts of Uzbekistan, in historical and cultural centres, which possess a unique spiritual legacy and centuries-old traditions passed over from generation to generation. Republican Festival of Children's art and creativity "Yanghi Avlod"	Republican Festival of children's art and creativity has a long history. From 2004 to 2009 it was organized by the Fund Forum with the assistance of "Kamalak" Children's organization. Since 2009 the festival is supported by the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) Over the years the "Yanghi Avlod" Festival has become not only an important event which allows to educe and develop talented children of Uzbekistan, but it also gives the children opportunity to become the centre of public attention while performing on the stage together with popular celebrities. Republican Youth Contest "Kelajak ovozi"	Annual Republican contest of talented young people "Kelajak ovozi" is one of the large-scale youth projects carried out in Uzbekistan. Starting from 2009 the contest presents nominations in the following categories: - Architecture and design (architecture, fashion design, interior and landscape design); - Information technologies, rationalization proposals, (WEB-design, software support, development work, innovations, improvement of production process management and structuring.); - Traditional decorative and applied art (visual arts, crafts, folklore, dancing); - Literary art and social and political journalism (poetry, prose, social and political essays). Art Week Style.uz	Art Week Style.uz has been carried out by Fund Forum together with Tashkent House of Style since 2006. The project introduces a diverse art-menu of the works of national and foreign designers, various presentations, master-classes, art exhibitions, young designers contest, a concert of popular variety performers, cultural events. Among the guests of the Art Week there are well-known fashion designers, artists, musicians, the owners of jewelry and fashion brands, celebrities of art, culture and fashion world, representatives of mass media, show-business stars. The Art Week schedule includes fashion parade of the works by leading designers from Uzbekistan and foreign fashion houses, a large-scale exhibition of applied arts, design and fashion, expositions of antiques and paintings, auctions, national dress festival, ‘Undeground' designers' show, master-classes conducted by leading designers and art specialists, various social and culture events. Republican Festival of traditional and contemporary arts "Navkiron Uzbekiston"	Republican Festival of traditional and contemporary arts "Navkiron Uzbekistan" (Youth of Uzbekistan) is one of the youth projects initiated by the Fund Forum. The purpose of the project is to educe and develop young artists and craftsmen. The first Festival was organized in September 2004 and since then it is held every other year. The participants of the Festival are young artists and craftsmen under 35 years of age who have art education. They represent all the provinces of Uzbekistan, Tashkent city and Karakalpakstan. The Festival slogan is as follows: ‘"Navkiron Uzbekistan" – is a contemporary approach to traditional arts of Uzbekistan'. The Festival participants present their original works which reflect the new views of the young artists and craftsmen on traditional arts. In the works submitted for the Festival one can trace the fusion of historical traditions and modern tendencies, of the past and the present, of West and East.	September 2010
M&ТVA	M&ТVA is an annual award nomination ceremony for music, television and video art – "Musika va tele- video asarlari nominatsiyasi". It was instituted by the "Uzbekistan culture and art Forum" Fund together with the Authors and Performers Guild and TBM TV channel in 2006. Since 2008 there has been introduced a special award initiated by Art Week Style.uz and presented to the most notable figures who have shown their worth in various spheres of public life of Uzbekistan. Prize-winners are elected by spectators' voting as well as by a jury represented by culture and art prominent public figures.	December 2010
On-line Closing Conference	On-line closing conference is one of the most practicable projects in Uzbekistan, a kind of “know-how” of Fund Forum, a modern and rather efficient way to summarize the year’s activity. Every year the Fund presents the account of the work done by direct dialogue with the public through Internet on www.on-line.uz. web-site. The questions of Internet users are answered not only by the Fund representatives, but also by prominent culture and art figures, show business and film stars, the Fund programmes’ winners - all those who actively participated in the activities of the Fund within the year. On-line conference also features ‘round-table’ discussions on various topics (international cooperation, culture and art, the youth and charity). The country’s public figures, representatives of education system, sports, international and non-state organizations, and mass media take part in such discussions.
Children’s International Tournament "Baby"	The main goal of the project is to popularize calisthenics among children, especially in remote regions of the country, to encourage in young gymnasts new sport achievements, to educe and support young sportsmen, to build up a reserve for the national sport team as well as to strengthen the friendly relations between the regions as well as on international level. The sport competition does not limit the participants in the choice of performance format: there are no restrictions in terms of performance nature, choice of objects, soundtrack or costume. The participants can perform solo or in a team in their age category, as well as in mixed groups.
International contemporary choreography and sport plastique contest	International contemporary choreography and sport plastique contest is a sport project aimed at promoting further development and support of choreographic art, young talents identification, creation of favourable conditions for their creative growth and professional level advance, improvement of recreation quality for children and youth, popularization of modern dance among children, adolescents and young adults. The Fund Forum, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Children's Sports Development Foundation, High School of National Dance and Choreography are the co-organizers of the contest. The age groups of participants who take part in the contest are diverse: from 5 to 10; from 10 to 15 and from 15 to 20. Within the framework of the contest programme the participants can present their skills in the following categories: Sports and ballroom dancing; Folk-specific dances; Street-dance; Free-style; Sport acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics.
